Nadine Hunt

1. Who are you?

I’m Nadine Hunt, a proud First Nations woman, Mum, and AG Triathlete currently doing my Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology, living in beautiful Far North Queensland.

2.What’s your favourite thing about your sport?

My favourite thing about triathlon and running is most definitely the community, I wouldn’t be where I am today with the people who encouraged and supported me from the start to keep going. Endurance sports bring a special kind of camaraderie and respect that I love.

  1. What is your favourite Training House product and how has it impacted your performance?

AG1 Athletic Greens is my favourite product, I’m not a great supplement tablet taker, so it ticks all the boxes for me in getting my daily nutrients in a convenient way, it has been an absolute game changer in my overall health, particularly with my immunity, and especially during an IRONMAN build.

4.Can you share a key piece of advice for fellow endurance athletes?

Transparency is everything. Always try to be open and honest with your family, friends, training partners, coaches, etc., about your goals and expectations and how they can help you succeed. I used to keep my goals to myself until I soon realised that achieving them required so much sacrifice, time, and support from my village. Having your support network on the same page takes away some of the surprises or complexity of balancing the commitments.

  1. What’s been your favourite memory throughout your whole career?

Finishing the 2023 IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, becoming the first First Nations woman to do so. Everything about that experience allowed so much of who I am and what I represent as a First Nations woman and mother to be visible in the triathlon, and hopefully, it paved the way for so many others to follow. My first Age Group win in the Cairns IRONMAN at home this year in front of my family, friends and community is also up there.
