AMBROSE KILLIAN

1.Who are you?

I'm Ambrose Killian, very proud dad of 2 little (Crazy) son's, First Nations artist and business owner and amateur triathlete and lover of all things outdoors and endurance sport related. I'm an Ambassador and member of TRIMOB a First Nations led charity empowering First Nations people through the sport of triathlon, and also my local Triathlon club, Rebound Club and have been participating in triathlon since 2021.

2.What’s your favourite thing about your sport?

The community and the challenge. I like to think I fell in lust with triathlon at the 2021 Mooloolaba triathlon and fell in love with the community that I have fallen into. You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with so I find it extremely positive to be surrounded by such positive people who aren't afraid of hard work and a good challenge.

3. What is your favourite Training House product and how has it impacted your performance?

My favourite products are the Nerd Belt and the Pure range - I love that I can ensure my recovery is top-notch with the Pure Recovery Shake and my intra-workouts always have a variety of different flavoured gels that I find easy to digest in their Fluid Gels (Apple & Cinnamon is a favourite)

4.Can you share a key piece of advice for fellow endurance athletes?

Enjoy the journey! It's a privilege to be able to participate in this sport and choose our hard, never take that for granted, so don't forget to smile when you are 2 hours into that long run and hurting!

5. What’s been your favourite memory throughout your whole career?

I have so many, from a performance perspective my first decent podium outside of the QTS was Port Macquarie 70.3 in 2023 - my time had a mistake in it and it said I placed 4th (25-29yrs) and it was corrected mid feed at the local Pancake restaurant and I noticed I had been moved to 3rd which was pretty special , so that really opened my eyes to my potential. From a community perspective Port Macquarie 2024 was really special to be there and support the first cohort of Ironmob athletes who all finished and smashed their races.
